Tony Campagna
The Core Of Chaos
Acrylic, Chalk and Mixed Media
Mental expression can trigger darker elements when inspiration taps the
roots of primal humanity. With a smear of black and white paint, Tony Campagna
colors the lines between life, death and suffering to touch the painful core of
civilization and its penchant for destruction.
Demonstrating the aggressive nature of society, Campagna’s artistic
creations portray the build up of a systematic overload and the aftermath of the
structural collapse. Campagna's paintings focus on the interconnection of sorrow
and the anguish of human torment held within each individual.
"Often times my artwork bursts forth without planning - it’s just
emotion and the moment. Other times, the pieces start in my head and then I
refine it through a process of detailing."
Campagna is a Florida native who is a Licensed Make Up Artist from The Joe
Blasco School of Make Up. After a lifetime of painting, Campagna sites the
creative styles of H.R. Giger and The Wicked Screaming Squirts as artistic
inspirations for his abstract designs. During the last few years, Campagna has
been awarded Best Works On Paper at the Hortt 40 at the Museum of Art in Fort
Lauderdale and won First Place for his Portfolio in the Broward County Fair Art
Contest. Tony has also displayed his work locally at Galerie Macabre, City Link,
Hometown Heros, Funktional Funk, The Holocaust Museum and on numerous public
murals.
