A Pen & Ink Exhibition

By

Troy Rodriguez

Artistic reflection expresses emotion and inspiration through essential introspection and creative flow. With a desire to tap into organic contours, Troy Rodriguez shapes features with bold lines and detailed patterns to enhance the compositional fluidity. Complementing the abstract arrangements with textured designs and an animated flair, Rodriguez’s colorful creations stimulate the senses with movement and spacial interaction. Rodriguez's pen & ink pieces mesh post-modern psychedelia with contemporary dynamics to intensify the methodical nuances of the vibrant designs.

"Every image has a unique identity that is reflective of the atmosphere and environment when they were created. My work tends to embrace the beauty and complexities of life with an abstract flavor and a connection to my personal experiences."

Rodriguez is a Miami native who began his artistic expression during childhood and developed some refinement through classes at Florida International University and American Intercontinental University. After 6 years of focused artwork, Rodriguez cites the works of Pablo Picasso, Jean-Michal Basquiat, Rembrandt Van Rijn, Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Frank Zappa, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pink Floyd as creative stimulations and inspirational motivators for his own pieces. In addition his abstract series, Rodriguez also demonstrates his creative skills with spontaneous portraits of people using charcoal, pastels, colored pencils and other mediums. Troy has had his artwork featured locally during the Flagami Festival and twice on the TV program La Cosa Nostra. The Wallflower Gallery is proud to present Troy Rodriguez as a featured artist for this Decorative Art Display.
