Linx

Meshing raw passion with soulful motion opens the intensity behind the image.  Tapping into the primal elements of a creative vision, Linx brings life to the scene by reaching into the spirit of the subject.  Capturing essence with bold lines and sharp colors, Linx establishes a tone that is projected through the textured characterization.  Within the movement of each picture, Linx’s paintings reflect the vibrancy of the moment along with a glimpse of history.

"With this exhibition, the paintings reached into my roots and brought out a history of consciousness.  There is a story behind pictures that shares emotion, growth and connection."

Before moving to South Florida in 1986, Linx, a Bahamian native, began  developing his artistic skills with the support of Ms. Bar, a Freeport Grand Bahama art teacher and emerging artist, Leo Brown.  At age 7, Linx won 1st place in an All-School Art Poster Contest and had his artwork published in the Freeport News.  While attending Miami Carol City High School, Linx continued to expand his creative technique and had his artwork on the cover of the Rain Dance Magazine along with a corresponding article.  To enhance his aesthetic range, Linx studied interior design at the National Education Center from 1993 to 1994.  Recently Linx has been involved in an assortment of innovative art projects including SAM (Support the Arts Movement), the Art Wars and the Broward Art Guild Quick Draw Competition (Broward New Times printed an article and the Eastsider printed a photograph of Linx and his painting covering the event).  To facilitate the drive to constantly create new pieces, Linx established a studio for painting, illustration, portraits, airbrush and other art forms, including customized clothes.  With a lifetime of artistic growth, Linx cites the inspiration of Reality (his oldest brother), Leo Brown, Mark Henry, Lebo and Salvador Dali as creative guides for his own expressive evolution.  Currently, Linx is in the process of expanding his creative dynamics with artistic videos and multi-media projects.  The Wallflower Gallery is proud to present Linx as a featured artist for this Fine Art Exhibition.
