Carlos Maneiro

Natural Duality
An Oil on Canvas Exhibition

Historical messages weave through the simple abstractions when an understanding of heritage conveys frustration. Layering meaning within constructive contours and soothing Earth tones, Carlos Maneiro accents specific core features with rooted visions of time and mortality. Portraying humanistic design within an organic texture, Maneiro’s politicized images depict the struggles between societal impulse and our naturalistic framework. Maneiro's paintings play with a conceptual surrealism that highlights thefrailty of individuals and the physical forces that bind together.

"Exploring ideas and points of view allows me to connect with a deep, spirited essence that guides me through my thoughts as I paint. With my higher, more critical voice representing my dissonance towards corruption and narrow-mindedness, I project my questions, answers and hopes into my pieces as I work for balance."

As a native of Venezuela, Maneiro studied various creative techniques from The Essy Art Academy in Caracas and continued his training at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, after moving to Florida 8 years ago. After 17 years of painting and drawing, Maneiro sites the works of Andre Breton, Giorgio De Chirico, Paul Delvaux, Carlo Carra, Marcel Duchamp, Max Ernest and Paul Klee as stylistic contributors for his expressionistic voice. Carlos has also displayed his work locally at Gallery 624, Around The World Collections, Lost Weekend, Blue, Crobar and The Chili Pepper.
